Voice AI Consultant for Production Voice Agents
Vikas Goel helps US enterprises and founders take voice AI agents from demo to production. He has shipped enterprise voice AI used by millions and works remotely from India.
Why voice agents fail after the demo
A demo uses clear speech and expected questions. Production brings noisy lines, interruptions, slow tools, and callers who ask for something the script never covered. Those failures sit between speech recognition, the model, your business systems and speech output, so testing one component won't find them.
What I help with
- Architecture: the call flow, the latency budget, and where facts must come from a system of record.
- Vendor evaluation: testing platforms on your own consented calls, not on sample audio.
- Reliability: escalation rules, audit trails, and limits on what the agent can do.
- Production readiness: a scorecard and release gates before real customers reach it.
- Team guidance: a fractional AI CTO role while your team builds.
Track record
I was CTO at blackNgreen and Nexiva, where we shipped enterprise voice AI used by millions. I led MagicCall, a real-time consumer voice app with 14M+ downloads, and I hold a pending Indian patent on an AI-driven voicemail assistant. Details are on the ventures page.

Frequently asked questions
What does a voice AI consultant do?
A voice AI consultant helps you choose the architecture and vendors, set latency and reliability targets, connect the agent to business systems safely, and decide whether it is ready for real callers.
Do you work with US companies?
Yes. Vikas Goel works remotely from Gurgaon, India with US enterprises and founders, on a focused, project-first basis.
How do you test a voice AI vendor?
Run the same consented call recordings through each vendor. Score task completion, accuracy on names and numbers, 95th-percentile response time, barge-in behaviour and escalation. Score clean and difficult audio separately.
How fast should a voice agent respond?
A useful planning target is about 800 ms from the end of the caller's sentence to the first audio of the reply. It is a design budget, so measure your own system at the 95th percentile.
